As EVP for Karlville, Raul leads commercial and new business development efforts. Raul graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a Mechanical Engineering degree. Straight out old school, Raul started his career in plastics with industry leader, Mobil Chemical, in both engineering and sales functions.
In 1996, Raul co-founded Karlville, along with his long-time partner and fellow UPENN graduate, John Price. Since the company’s inception, Karlville has sold more than 3,500 machines in 86 countries. Company focus has been in the shrink sleeve converting, pouch and flexible packaging machine business.
Raul led efforts to expand Karlville into packaging business in 2005 and 2008 with the acquisition and merger of two French packaging machinery companies to form Karlville Packaging in France. After game-changing machinery partnership created with HP Indigo after DRUPA 20016, Raul was instrumental in the expansion of the Digital Pouch Factory in HP Indigo’s Atlanta and Barcelona Experience Centers.
Growing within its companies roots in flexible packaging, Karlville Swiss was formed in 2017 to fabricate quick change pouch converting machines with a seasoned pouch team. Karlville Swiss has been one of Karlville most recent and fastest growth endeavors with a new factory inaugurated in November 2021.
In 2022, the Karlville Swiss business was sold to Ambienta’s platform company, In.Pack Machinery, to become part of the largest plastic and paper bag converting machinery fabricator group in the world.
Now, expanding the business in the Americas for the new venture, Raul continues to support commercial efforts in digital and conventional business for all types of premade flexible packaging formats.
